This piece, titled, Droplets, is all about uncertainty. Whether we're talking about the droplets of virus in the air or the droplets or water creating a fog, obscuring what is right around the next bend, this is a tough time to be any age, much less 15, like my Gracie is here. I want to help her through it all, but I realize that this is the time when we turn away from our parents and start to really strike out on our own. It makes a parent scared and sad and incredibly proud, all at once.

James Andrews is an artist and teacher who has been living in the Pacific Northwest since 1999. Andrews work is best described as Narrative Surrealism. While he is skilled in classical figure drawing with graphite and color pencil, the bulk of his professional work is in painting. Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1973, Andrews' family moved out to Long Island's beautiful East End when he was a toddler. The skies, waters and other scenic features of the beloved Hamptons area, which he will always refer to as “home” populate many of his paintings.
