Description
In this work, the young girl is realizing that she is in control of her own destiny, that she is capable of dreaming the universe she desires into reality. I have taken bits from Greek and Hindu mythology here. The girl, named Promethea (modeled by my oldest child, Avery), has stolen the conch shell from the Hindu god, Vishnu. This Conch, named Panchajanya (the name is carved into the shell) is a powerful tool, from which reality pours. This is not unlike the Greek, Prometheus, whole stole fire from the gods. The look on the Promethea's face shows the weight of the knowledge that her entire future is completely, and quite literally, in her own hands.
