Artist's Description
This is the final piece in the first series of "face in the trees," paintings. The person depicted throughout the series is now at piece and ready to accept and move on to the next stage of existence. The face in the tree is perhaps a little harder to see than the others, as it is tilted back instead of facing the viewer. The tree is exhaling--letting go.

About James Andrews

James Andrews is an artist and teacher who has been living in the Pacific Northwest since 1999. Andrews work is best described as Narrative Surrealism. While he is skilled in classical figure drawing with graphite and color pencil, the bulk of his professional work is in painting. Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1973, Andrews' family moved out to Long Island's beautiful East End when he was a toddler. The skies, waters and other scenic features of the beloved Hamptons area, which he will always refer to as “home” populate many of his paintings. Andrews has always had a love of art and the stories it can tell. This love led him to pursue and earn a BFA in Theatrical Design from the State University of New York at New Paltz and,...
