Nine is a very common number in spirituality and one could easily take this piece to wherever it fit for them. For me, this painting is about the journey home, once we are done with this existence. I think of the nine boats as representing the nine choruses of angles helping and comforting me as I take one last spin around my favorite parts of this plane before moving on to the next adventure.

I only counted 8 boats at first and thought I must be the ninth boat coming into the painting. I was on my way to another level of living. I did not think of the other boats as angels but of other souls I knew traveling with me. I enjoy this painting, thank you for sharing. DIana Frye
